Over the past two years, volunteers have been hacking their way through dense forest and Superstorm Sandy blown down trees.  The trail got is longest continuous push from a team of high school age students from the Student Conservation Association (SCA).  The SCA is a national non-profit organization who's mission is to " .... inspire lifelong stewardship of the environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land".  The SCA team camped at Horseshoe Bend Park for three weeks while they worked on the trail and at other parklands in the area.

The addition of this trail has increased the total trail length within the park to 10.6 miles and has forced the trail map to be offered in Northern and Southern sections.  To get copies of the new maps - click on the links below.
