August 2020 - Eagle Scout candidate Luke Hopta adds 60 feet of raised trail along the Flagg-Kirkland Trail.

Choosing to do a project in the 800 acre Horseshoe Bend Park can be difficult.  Selecting the right project is one thing, then figuring out how to get it done is another.  The logistics of getting people and materials to the site involves days of planning and preparation.  Luke Hopta chose to add sixty feet of raised trail to existing trail over a half mile from any road.

Luke organized scouts and other volunteers to complete this multi-day task. During this process Luke had to learn how to build the trail, operate power tools, and organize others.  These are all great experiences for future life.
